Dashboard & Navigation Overview

The app dashboard lets you quickly jump to different sections of the Shopify AI Content Generator app. It helps you navigate to the following important sections:

  • App Configuration
  • Product Content Generation
  • Collections Content Generation
  • Articles Content Generation

You can also use the app navigation menu on the left side to move to important sections of the app.


 

Main Configuration

In the Shopify AI Content Generator app, go to “Configuration” to configure the application. Here, you can set your own API key and configure other settings for AI content generation.

Note: Our free plan comes with 20 free content credits. You’re not required to add any API key, if you’re using a free plan. The paid users are required to add their own OpenAI API Key to use the app.

Set API Key & Select Language Model

In the “Main Configuration” tab, you can select the OpenAI language model you want to use for generating text content. Currently, the app supports the following models:

  • gpt-3.5-turbo
  • gpt-4

You’ll also need to enter your OpenAI API key to integrate the language model with the app. (Additional charges may apply.) Learn here how to get OpenAI API Key.

Default Content Settings

In the “Main Configuration” tab, you can also configure the default settings for AI content. The values set here will be by default applied to the entire app.

Here, you can set the default:

  • Content Length: Choose the length of the content you want to generate. You can choose from the following:
    • Short
    • Standard
    • Long
  • Creativity: Set the creativity of the AI-generated content by changing the temperature value. (Setting the value higher will decrease the accuracy.)
  • Content Tone: Choose the default content tone from the following:
    • Professional
    • Friendly
    • Playful
    • Neutral
  • Content Language: Select the default content generation language. You can choose from over 20 different languages.
  • Content Format: Choose the desired content output format from simple text and HTML.

Once configured, click “Save” at the top-right to save the settings.

Set Default Content Prompts

The Shopify AI Content Generator allows you to customize the default AI prompts. This means you can have better control over the content it generates.

Set Prompts for Collection Content

In the app configuration, go to the “Collection Settings” to customize the AI prompts for generating content for collection pages.

Here, you can modify prompts for the following types of content:

  • Collection Title
  • Collection Meta Description
  • Collection Description

You can also use the variable {collection_name} in the prompt to pass the collection name.

Once modified, click “Save” at the top-right to save the prompts.

Set Prompts for Product Content

In the app configuration, go to the “Product Settings” to customize the AI prompts for generating content for product pages.

Here, you can modify prompts for the following types of content:

  • Product Title
  • Product Meta Description
  • Product Description

You can also use the variable {product_name} in the prompt to pass the product name.


 

Once modified, click “Save” at the top-right to save the prompts.

Once the app is configured, you can start generating content for the products, collections, and blog posts.
 

Generate Product Page Content

To generate content for product pages, go to “Products” in the left navigation menu under the AI Content Generator app.

The list of all products in the store will be displayed. Click the product you want to generate AI Content for.

Now, you’ll find various configuration options for the AI Content.

You can edit the product details (if required) and add keywords. You can use AI to get keywords suggestions and add them to the product.

Here are the content settings you can configure:

  • Content Length: You can choose from the following:
    • Short
    • Standard
    • Long
  • Creativity: Set the creativity of the AI-generated content by changing the temperature value.
  • Content Tone: Choose the default content tone from the following:
    • Professional
    • Friendly
    • Playful
    • Neutral
  • Content Language: Choose from over 20 different languages for the content.
  • Content Format: Choose the desired content output format from simple text and HTML.

Once configured, click the “Generate” buttons in the Description, SEO Title, and SEO Meta Description sections to get AI Content.

Click the “Save” button to save any specific content.


 

You can also use a custom prompt for generating product descriptions.

Click “Use Custom Prompt” and enter the prompt in the popup. And click “Generate” to get the product description as per your custom prompt.


 

The Shopify AI Content Generator by Meetanshi also supports generating content for multiple products at bulk.

To generate product content in bulk, go to “Products” in the left navigation menu under the app. Select multiple products you want to generate content for. And click the appropriate button from the following to generate content in bulk:

  • Generate Description: Bulk-generate descriptions for selected products using the default settings.
  • Generate SEO: Bulk-generate the title and meta description for selected products.

Generate Collection Page Content

To generate content for collection pages, go to “Collections” in the left navigation menu under the AI Content Generator app.

The list of all collections in the store will be displayed. Click the collection you want to generate AI Content for.

Now, you’ll find various configuration options for the AI Content.

You can edit the collection title (if required.)

You can configure the following content settings:

The app also supports generating content for multiple collections at bulk.

Generate Articles/Blog Posts

The app also let’s you generate content for articles & blog posts in your store.

To generate a blog post, first create a blank post in Shopify with the title (which will be used by our app to generate body content.) Go to “Articles” in the left navigation menu under the app.

Now, select the blog post/article you want to generate content for.

Now, you’ll find various configuration options for the AI Content.

You can edit the post title (if required.)

You can configure the following content settings:

  • Content Length: You can choose from the following:
    • Short
    • Standard
    • Long
  • Creativity: Set the creativity of the AI-generated content by changing the temperature value.
  • Content Tone: Choose the default content tone from the following:
    • Professional
    • Friendly
    • Playful
    • Neutral
  • Content Language: Choose from over 20 different languages for the content.
  • Content Format: Choose the desired content output format from simple text and HTML.

Once configured, click “Generate” button to get the AI content for the blog post.

Click “Use Custom Prompt” and enter the prompt in the popup. And click “Generate” to get the blog post content.

1. How to Get OpenAI API Key?

Ans. To get your OpenAI API Key, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to https://platform.openai.com/ and click “Login” on the top right corner.

Step 2: Enter your OpenAI credentials and log into your account.

Step 3: On the next screen, select “API.”

Step 4: Once logged in, select “API keys” in the left navigation menu.

Step 5: Under the API Keys, click “Create a new secret key.” A popup will appear as shown below. Name the API key (optional) and click “Create secret key.”

Now, the OpenAI API key will be generated and displayed as shown below. Click the copy icon and paste it in the Shopify AI Content Generator app.

2. How Much Does the OpenAI API cost?

OpenAI has a token-based pricing structure. You’ll need to add payment details to your OpenAI account to use its paid API.

The cost of using the gpt-3.5-turbo language model is $0.0020 per 1000 tokens, which approximately equals 750 words. And the cost of using the gpt-4 language model is $0.06 per 1000 tokens, which approximately equals to 750 words.
