Magento Notification Bar enables an attractive alert bar in frontend to notify visitors about your new releases, offers, messages, news etc. in the most effective way.

  1. Extension Installation
  • Upload or copy all folders in the zip package to your Magento root folder. It doesn’t overwrite any existing files but just adds new files to the folder structure.
  • Once done, log in your Magento admin panel, go to System > Cache Management, select all caches and refresh.
  • Navigate to System > Configuration, if you can see the extension tab, it is installed properly.
  • If you get Access denied error, you need to log out admin panel and log in again.

 

  1. Configuration
    For configuring the extension, log in to Magento, move to System > Configuration > Notification Bar where you can find various settings to enable the extension.
  • Notification Bar: Enable the Notification Bar extension.
  • Enable Notification In: Select either mobile or desktop or both to enable the notification bar display in.
  • Notification Bar Size:  Select one of the three pre-defined sizes of the notification bar.
  • Notification Bar Position: Select the position of the notification bar.
  • Notification Bar Effect: Select the notification bar transition effect from the drop-down menu.
  • Notification Bar Close Button: Enable the close button to allow users close notification bar.


  

 

  1. Bar Settings
    The extension facilitates with 6 different notification bar goals to serve different purposes and get benefitted with. One needs to select the notification goal, make related settings and the frontend will be reflected accordingly.
     
    1. ​​​​​​Promote a Sale/Discount
      1. Notification Goal:  Select a Notification goal from drop down.
      2. Notification Text: Enter the Notification text to be displayed in the frontend.
      3. Text and Background Color: Select the color for text and background of the notification bar.
      4. Button Text: Input the button text.
      5. Button Hyper Link: Set the button hyperlink.
      6. Button Font Color: Set the font color for button text.
      7. Button Background Color: Set the background color for the button.

    2. Talk to Your Visitors
      Communication with potential customers is must and the module allows to display an option for visitors to easily contact you using a contact number displayed in the notification bar.
      1. Notification Goal:  Select a Notification goal from drop down.
      2. Notification Text: Enter the Notification text to be displayed in the frontend.
      3. Text and Background Color: Select the color for text and background of the notification bar.
      4. Call Text: Input the call text.
      5. Call Button Number: Input the call button number.
      6. Call Button Font and Background Color: Select the color for font and background color for the call button.

    3. Social
      Engage with your customers and social media is the best platform for it! Using this goal, you can encourage visitors to connect with you on social media. Configure the module to enable hyperlinks for social media profiles of your store.
      1. Notification Goal:  Select a Notification goal from drop down.
      2. Notification Text: Enter the Notification text to be displayed in the frontend.
      3. Text and Background Color: Select the color for text and background of the notification bar.
      4. Facebook Link: Input the Facebook account link of your store.
      5. Twitter Link: Input the Twitter account link of your store.
      6. Instagram Link: Input the Instagram account link of your store.
      7. LinkedIn Link: Input the LinkedIn account link of your store
      8. YouTube Link: Input the YouTube account link of your store
      9. Google+ Link: Input the Google+ account link of your store
      10. Pinterest Link: Input the Pinterest account link of your store

    4. Grow Your Mailing List
      Newsletter can contribute in customer conversions and for that admin needs visitors to subscribe for the same. The notification bar module enables to let visitors subscribe for newsletter after the below configurations are done.
      1. Notification Goal:  Select a Notification goal from drop down.
      2. Notification Text: Enter the Notification text to be displayed in the frontend.
      3. Text and Background Color: Select the color for text and background of the notification bar.
      4. Newsletter Button Text: Set the button text.
      5. Newsletter Button Font Color: Select the font color for newsletter button.
      6. Newsletter Button Background Color: Select the background color for newsletter button.
      7. Privacy Policy Checkbox: Enable the privacy policy checkbox.
      8. Notice Text: Input the notice text.
      9. Notice Text Color: Select the color for notice text.
      10. Privacy Policy Content Page: Select the privacy policy content page.

    5. Countdown Timer
      Create urgency with the countdown timer for various offers or events run on your site. Simply enable the offer with the timer to notify visitors about the timing left for the offer and encourage them to convert quickly.
      1. Notification Goal:  Select a Notification goal from drop down.
      2. Notification Text: Enter the Notification text to be displayed in the frontend.
      3. Text and Background Color: Select the color for text and background of the notification bar.
      4. Countdown Button Text: Set the button text.
      5. Countdown Button Hyperlink: Set the button hyperlink.
      6. Countdown Button Font and Background Color: Select the font and background color for countdown button.
      7. Countdown Timer Color for Numbers and Periods: Select the color for numbers and periods of countdown timer.
      8. Offer End Date: Select the date from the calendar for the offer to end.

    6. ​News Ticker
      Attractively show various news with their hyperlinks to the detailed news page.
      1. Notification Goal:  Select a Notification goal from drop down.
      2. Text and Background Color: Select the color for text and background of the notification bar.​​​​​​​



        To add various news tickers, go to Notification Bar > Manage News Tickers > Add New Ticker. Add news headlines and the hyperlinks for the same, as shown here.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
